Now is a Time for Giving Thanks!
The days grow longer and the calendar moves toward winter. For thousands of years, this time of year has brought people of many different faiths and cultures together to celebrate the end of the growing season and the harvest of their efforts. These celebrations take on many different traditions – from the foods we eat to how or where we spend the day.
While we all have our woes, take this opportunity to reflect on our blessings. We enjoy freedoms, a standard of living and opportunities that are the envy of the world. It is a time for thanks-giving! So whether you are cooking, traveling to grandma’s, running a turkey trot or watching football, take the time to reflect on your good fortunes. Thank those who enrich your life. Do a kindness for someone less fortunate. Give thanks and give hugs to those you love. Celebrate your harvest of the heart.
